1 YEAR POST WEDDING WEEKEND: THE BIG DAY
August 31, 2024 marks one of my favorite, most cherished days. Truly a day I will remember forever! We got married on a beautiful (and hot!) late summer day at Morning Glory Farm outside Charlotte, NC. The day was beyond anticipated and truly was everything and more. I was a very invested bride in the planning process and was so thrilled with how our vision came to life.
THE DRESS & GETTING READY
The idea of dress shopping felt so overwhelming.. there is so much pressure to find ‘the one’ and the experience can be exhaustive. I had always dreamed of wearing something classic with a unique twist. Simple yet a statement. The Justin Alexander Signature Bobbi gown was the first I tried on- I came out of the dressing room beaming. It felt so me. After trying more styles it became clear that nothing would compare. We made a few tweaks to give it that second skin feel. My grandma’s handkerchief was sewn into the inner skirt to carry with me. A cathedral veil with the matching floral appliqué for extra drama. For shoes, I kept it classic with a nude mary jane slingback from Prada. Simple pearl and diamond drop earrings from Ring Concierge. Beauty was also simple- an elevated version of my everyday makeup. Pulled back low bun felt clean and effortless, plus was perfect for how hot it was. The most beautiful I’ve ever felt! My sister & MOH wore a stunning V Chapman emerald green dress!
FIRST LOOKS & CEREMONY
Easily the most magical part of our wedding day; reading our personal vows and sharing our love story surrounded by our closest friends & family. We chose to do a first look for photos and family portraits- it didn’t take away at all from walking down the aisle! As guests arrived, they were greeted with a welcome drink and led to our ceremony location. I’ve always loved the porch at Morning Glory Farm, the overgrown wisteria and English garden feel. I wanted our ceremony to feel intimate & cozy and it was just that. Our florals were inspired by a traditional English garden and we wanted them to look natural in the space. Our florist, Seeded Events and Design, nailed it! Our stationary designer, Hannah Turner Studio, customized fans for each chair for assisted seating and also to help beat the heat. Our violinist was a hit- the entire time it felt like we were in a scene from Bridgerton. I walked down the aisle to her playing Wildest Dreams, my dad and I equally holding each other up. It was truly the most perfect!

reception DETAILS
Our reception was held in Morning Glory Farm’s ‘The Garden Room’, a greenhouse space with stunning glass and stone features. We wanted the details and design to capture that vintage botanical feel. I spent months sourcing silver candelabras for the tablescape including a 5ft tall one that was placed beside our sweetheart table. Florals were repurposed from the ceremony and the tablescape details were minimal yet intentional. On the menu was a pear and arugula salad to start and a sun-dried tomato chicken entree. Lemon bars and lemon cake for dessert. We danced all night before exiting into our getaway car!
