CELEBRATING BABY BOY! BABY SHOWER DETAILS
Earlier this month we showered our sweet baby boy! The day was filled with so much joy- surrounded by many wonderful friends and family. All the details came together beautifully too. I couldn’t have asked for a more perfect day and shower! Baby boy is beyond loved already!
theme and inspiration
I was definitely very hands on in the process of planning the shower especially when it came to design. Of course there was a moodboard! This type of stuff is my bread & butter- I thoroughly enjoyed working on the design and curation. Having a late summer baby I wanted to lean into a rich, warm color palette that still felt ‘boy’ - chartreuse, yellow, greens and of course touches of blue. Straying away from a strict theme, I leaned into an organic and natural feel, with cafe and farmers market elements.
After touring several venues, we opted to hold the shower at my parents’ home. It allowed us more creative freedom, flexibility and felt more comfortable given the nature of the party. My parents were already looking to spruce up their backyard, so we spent the weeks leading up to the party finding some new outdoor furniture and landscaping. A true labor of love!
DESIGN DETAILS
food & bar
The food and bar area were large design focal points for the party. The incredible bar setup was entirely by Loveleigh Sips- a local boutique mobile bar service. They were absolutely incredible to work with! Amber completely understood the vision- suggesting the fluted wood bar with a green and cream floral umbrella. We had three signature drinks: Blueberry Spritz, Lavender Limoncello Spritz and a Blackberry Basil Cocktail. Each drink was garnished and we added ‘Baby Radice’ stickers to the cups for extra customization. The small linen A-frame welcome sign was designed by me and ordered via Etsy. Turned out so cute!
The food tablescape was all DIY! The large linen sign backdrop was a last minute addition- my parents are actually in the middle of a slight home renovation and we needed something to cover the wall. I ordered a 9x12ft drop cloth and decided to paint it myself. It ended up being a sweet personal touch and worked well to cover the area. We layered two thrifted linens for the table, scalloped cream plates and silverware from Amazon and platters from our home collection. I wanted very large, organic, overflowing florals to frame the display and we found some great options at a local nursery that we put in rattan baskets. A super affordable option that we will repot and keep! We also added a Magnolia green cooler on the corner filled with additional NA beverages. Food was catered from Maman- a tasty & aesthetic French cafe in our area.
FLOWER BAR
For our guest favor, we went with ‘Blooms from Baby Boy’ - via the cutest flower cart by Loveleigh Fields. Everything was customized from the decal, baskets, flower options and bouquet stickers. It also acted as decor, a cute backdrop and an activity for guests. Who doesn’t love a fun floral arrangement!
GAMES & SEATING
The first 90 minutes of the shower was for mingling and light games (in addition to enjoying the food & bevs). I really didn’t want any intricate activities but did want to incorporate some self-starting games to continue the baby theme and create conversation starters. We did a ‘Mom or Dad & how old’ picture guessing game, rubber duck guessing raffle (super cute idea my mom came up with!) and a predictions/advice card people could fill out. For decor, the striped bistro linens were from Target, centerpieces were herbs in planter pots, baby boy clothes hanging from a clothes line, and lots of neutral umbrellas for shade. It felt curated but not overdone.
For the second half of the shower we went inside to play additional games with Dad-to-be and open presents (plus cool off from the FL heat!). We had the uncles join as well to act as our cafe servers, taking refreshment requests and passing out desserts from the sweets bar. We kept the inside decor minimal. The sweets were also catered from Maman. Everyone loved the interactive games with dad and seeing all the gifts for baby boy. So so very loved!!
SIGNAGE & STATIONARY
Forever obsessed with paper goods! This is a compilation of all the signage/stationary used- I designed myself on canva. The main font used is Eternal Blossom which I purchased from Etsy. I love how everything turned out! Playful yet clean. I had everything printed from either Vista Print or Zazzle.
All the love for baby boy
We could not be more grateful for all the love we received for baby boy. The celebration for his upcoming arrival was everything I could have imagined and more!! Huge shoutout to our vendors and immediate family for the sweat & love they poured into this day. Countdown is on!
